A short drive in your vehicle from Car Hire Lancaster will take you to the Judge's Lodgings. This is a beautiful building and was once home to Thomas Lovell the Witch Hunter. He was Governor of the prison during the witch trials.
Penny's Hospital is a splendid row of 18th Century Almshouses that are in impeccable condition today. The houses are small and terraced but maintain their historical appeal. They are to be found in King Street.
A little bit different to sightseeing is to watch a play in Williamson Park. The park is home to the famous Ashton Memorial which is a Taj Mahal like structure in the park. It is unique building in the area and offers great views of Morecambe Bay from the observation deck. It is commonly referred to by the locals as The Structure given its unique design.
The Market Square in the town has a museum which is a great place to visit and revisit the places that you have been in all in one spot. There is also a library in the square that is very popular with its good collection.
